On September 12, 2008, I witnessed the airbrush of corrupt power attempt to erase the voice of the American People from the equation of our future in Washington, DC. Fortunately, our voices carried a power of their own…amplified by a rather massive grassroots megaphone known as the Tea Party. The very same energy and spirit that rallied us, beyond ourselves to Lexington and Concord was alive and well in us that day! And while the Ruling Class Elite scurried about like a professional mob clean-up crew desperately trying to remove all signs of our existence, the rest of the world was watching…just like we’re watching Cairo today, and Tunisia the day before, and Tehran the day before that…and so on.
That which has become so crystal clear to those of us who stand today, and tragically lost on so many within our own borders, is catching on like wild-fire in the hearts of the oppressed around the globe…thanks to the internet, social media and the foreign press where journalism apparently still has a pulse. Thomas Jefferson’s words were not exclusively restricted to specific latitudes, longitudes and points on a compass…they were crafted for the ears of all men. What has been kept from them for centuries now reads out instantly on their blackberries…and they want it now!
And the supreme irony in all of this lies in the pathetic caricature of an American President hell-bent on lecturing the American People away from our greatest fruit, and directly into the fire that the rest of the world is running from!! The same American President who bows to dictators and tyrants with an appeasing grace, has stood silent witness to the plight of their people. “They have a different political system than ours.”…is his response to reporters who question his coziness with China’s leader.
My favorite quote (again…from the foreign press), “Events in the Middle East are moving way to fast for the Obama Administration…” http://www.smh.com.au/world/revolution-is-in-the-air-but-us-sticks-to-same-old-script-20110128-1a8e6.html This Administration has spun such a convoluted jungle of lies that it would need the super computer technology has not yet invented to keep its bearings. And that not being the case, it appears impotently lost instead as the top three “leaders” (Obama, Biden & Clinton) contradict themselves. And we worry about the leadership void in Cairo?
Well, where there are voids there will always be a gathering of wolves. And if you there sipping your quiet suburban cup of coffee think that another Iran-like Islamic Regime in the Middle East won’t affect you and yours, guess again! Our world totters precariously on a delicate fulcrum this day my friend…and I shudder to think of the darkness that will permeate every inch of our world if the light of freedom and liberty should not prevail.
You and I and the citizens of this world have little to do with those in power who presume to speak for us. This is our time to be fully awake and vigilant, for there may be no other. I humbly ask that you print the following prayer delivered by one Samuel Langdon in 1787 and keep it very close to your heart in the days ahead.
A PRAYER FOR OUR NATION AND THE PEOPLE
Reverend Samuel Langdon, 1787
“Preserve your government with the utmost attention and solicitude, for it is the remarkable gift of heaven. From year to year be careful in the choice of your representatives and all the higher powers of government.
“Fix your eyes upon men of good understanding and known honesty; men of knowledge, improved by experience; men who fear God and hate covetousness; who love truth and righteousness, and sincerely wish the public welfare.
“Beware of such as are cunning rather than wise; who prefer their own interest to everything; whose judgment is partial or fickle, and whom you would not willingly trust with your own private interests.
“When meetings are called for the choice of your rulers, do not carelessly neglect them or give your votes with indifference … but act with serious deliberation and judgment, as in a most important matter, and let the faithful of the land serve you.
“Let not men openly irreligious and immoral become your legislators; for how can you expect good laws to be made by men who have no fear of God … and who boldly trample on the authority of his commands?… If the legislative body is corrupt, you will soon have bad men for counselors, corrupt judges, unqualified justices, and officers in every department who will dishonor their stations….”
“Therefore be always on your guard against parties and the methods [of] unworthy men, and let distinguished merit always determine your vote. And when all places in government are filled with the best men you can find, behave yourselves as good subjects; obey the laws, [be] cheerfully subject to such taxation as the necessities of the public call for. Give tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, and honor to whom honor [is due] as the gospel commands you.
“Never give countenance to turbulent men, who wish to distinguish themselves and rise to power by forming combinations and exciting insurrections against government. For this can never be the right way to redress real grievances….”
“I call upon you also to support schools in all your towns, that the rising generation may not grow up in ignorance…. It is a debt you owe to your children and that God to whom they belong….”
“I call upon you to preserve the knowledge of God in the land and attend to the revelation written to us from heaven.
“If you neglect or renounce that religion taught and commanded in holy scriptures, think no more of freedom, peace, and happiness….”
