…I’m leaving today.
Besides being the next line in a classic Sinatra tune, I’m leaving today has been the mantra for entrepreneurial capital fleeing the State of New York for quite some time now…to the tune of $ 1 Trillion (with a T) to Texas (with a smiling T) alone! But obviously that’s of no concern to the hapless clowns in Albany. Hey whadaya know…another classic song and totally appropriate theme song for our State Capital, Send in the Clowns!
I like a good laugh just as much as the next man…but its hard to even crack a smile when you’re facing the cold hard reality of debt facts from the Congressional Budget Office! Well our debt will exceed our GDP in 10 years according to the CBO, and there is NOTHING in place to stop it! In fact, it seems that the clowns in Washington and Albany all suffer the same dementia…BTW, it may pay to notice that they’re not laughing today in Athens!
One would think that any reasonably intelligent person would look to a State like Texas where all the money seems to be headed, and all the jobs are being created (half of all the job creation in the country at present), and say, “What are they doing right, and why aren’t we doing it?” But then you’d have to find a reasonably intelligent person in places like Sacramento and Albany…sorry!
The Punch Line– Wait for it….
“While I understand that my vote will disappoint many, I also know my vote is a vote of conscience,” NY State Clown Saland said in a statement before the vote. “I am doing the right thing in voting to support marriage equality.”
Can’t you just hear all the prospective employers and venture capitalists in the Texas-bound caravan jamming on their brakes upon hearing the news! After all, the next line in the Sinatra classic is I want to be a part of it. A PART OF WHAT…CULTURAL INSANITY AND STUPIDITY?
Business is flat-lining in New York! The patient is hemorrhaging jobs and what do the EMT Clowns in Albany do? They push away the life-saving crash cart and wheel in the manicure tray…pedicure next I suppose…can’t wait for the facial! Isn’t life rich?…
