Two young women who lived in the same house and who both had an infant son came to Solomon for a judgment. One of the women claimed that the other, after accidentally smothering her own son while sleeping, had exchanged the two children to make it appear that the living child was hers. The other woman denied this and so both women claimed to be the mother of the living son and said that the dead boy belonged to the other.
After some deliberation, King Solomon called for a sword to be brought before him. He declared that there was only one fair solution: the live son must be split in two, each woman receiving half of the child. Upon hearing this terrible verdict, the boy’s true mother cried out, “Oh Lord, give the baby to her, just don’t kill him!” The liar, in her bitter jealousy, exclaimed, “It shall be neither mine nor yours—divide it!”
The king declared the first mother as the true mother and gave her the baby. King Solomon’s judgment became known throughout all of Israel and was considered an example of profound wisdom. ~ Wikipedia from 1 Kings 3: 16-28
I remember this story from my childhood as many of us do. What saddens me deeply is knowing how few children today will be able to say this when they are our age. The Wisdom of Solomon is the Wisdom of God. The reason we know the story is because our elders loved us enough to look after us in God’s Courtyard where we were able to sit on God’s knee as children. Those of us who drew close enough to see, have scattered and have been scattered but can never forget. The rest of us have forgotten in much the same way as the English attempted to make the Irish forget their Irish…by outlawing their Irishness.
America is the baby in 1 Kings 3: 16-28. God is Solomon! We must figure out which mother we are…because every single one of us is one or the other. We can only do this by listening to ourselves speak and by facing God.
When I listened to Ed speak this past Thursday morning at our small business networking meeting about how he was able to get Obamacare in New York thanks to Obama, I knew which mother was speaking. When I heard the lesbian couple from New Jersey speak about their Gay Marriage, I knew which mother was speaking. When I listened to the spokesman for the Boy Scout’s lifting of the ban, I knew which mother was speaking. And when I listened to the voice of Planned Parenthood speak about a “woman’s right to choose”, I knew very clearly which mother was speaking!
This is not to say that my friend Ed is a liar because I know him to be a truthful man. Ed believes he can have Obamacare without killing America because he has put his ideology before God and Country. Ed is not facing God. The Lesbian couple is less concerned about killing America and more concerned with their own marriage because they believe the State has the power of absolution, and so they have no need to face God. The voice of Scouting has become the surrender to coercion. Period! And the voice of Planned Parenthood is literally the lying mother calling for Solomon to “kill the baby”!
But even more disturbing than these voices; what of God’s own shepherds? Which mother is the Catholic priest who has stopped calling for Confession, or calling out Satan by his name and warning us of Hell? What of the Christian Clergy and my favorite Reform Rabbi I love so dearly. Why have they allowed their Ministry of God to become a mere fellowship of men? Which mother are they now…even as Solomon draws his sword?
It is as impossible to face God and hold these positions as it is to face the sun and see darkness…unless of course you are blind. Soros pumping millions into a Clinton Presidential bid is nothing more than an investment in the perpetual darkness of false absolution. They cannot permit the Light of God back into His Courtyard…as if it were up to them!
The good news is that God loves us enough to make us turn to face him through our own heart at its own pace. Some will turn sooner than others. Some of us have never turned away. Many of us turned after feeling pressured to look away. And some of us will only turn when we finally feel the boot heel upon our necks. The rest, who would sooner kill the baby than turn to face the Truth knowing, have sealed their fate!
Unlike the sponsors of false absolution and coercion, God has no need to force his way back into the Courtyard…he will love his way back in because nobody, nobody loves us Like He Does!.
