Just When You Think…

"By the head of a river and the wide open sea."

“By the head of a river and the wide open sea.”

There is nothing worse than being misunderstood by the person you love. It is as emotionally painful as being locked up for a crime you never committed. If I was contracted to write the most tragically heartbreaking tragedy of all, it would go something like this…

I found love in a village at the foot of a mountain
by the head of a river and the wide open sea.

Like running away with the Grim Reaper she thought would save her from old age…  There was nothing he could say or do…as he watched her turn the page.                        Nothing in this whole wide world will ever cure the pain…                                                        of giving all you have to give, to a black hole of disdain.

When the legions of Angels came down from the sky
and they chased all the dark clouds away
just when you think it’s over…the end of the line
they’ll sing you a better day.

As always in the Fire of Life, a lesson to be learned…                                                      everything you’ve got to give is enough to get you burned.

Love takes a bad man and makes him a good man
and opens the heart so a blind man can see.

“And what did you see my blue-eyed son, oh what did you see my darling young one?            I saw a newborn babe with wild wolves all around it.                                                               I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it.”

But sight is our payment for a service un-rendered
for the heart to make known what the eyes only see.

And when at last he awakened to see her standing at the door,                                               he wondered if he could love her enough to hate himself even more…

And the legions of Angels come down from the sky
…to take all your heartaches away
just when you think it’s over…the end of the line
they’ll sing you a better day.

And his tears in steady fashion fell to earth, as lovers always do…                                       when the Well of Winter’s Passion spills her last, to feed the morning dew.

What are these eyes for if we can’t hope to see more
than love’s own betrayal in a friendly disguise?

He divested of himself; like a thought without a mother…                                                        No flesh, no bone, or place called home…no one without the other.

Where is the sister who can’t find the brother
who’s forgotten his mother from a long time ago?

Ashes to ashes and GOS to GOS…                                                                                               Where there’s nothing to lose, nothing is lost.

Then the legions of Angels came down from the sky…                                                and they chased all your troubles away                                                                    just when you think it’s over…the end of the line                                                they’ll sing you a better day.

Know the light of love is fragile, if it ever shines your way…                                                   But it comes to feed the higher self; well worth the price we pay.

No flag I would die for could deliver a pain more
eternally wounding than losing your love…

So take heart in the deepest sorrow, and keep faith in the darkest night…                      never give up on tomorrow…and always trust in what is right.

So take heart in knowin’ that a good man keeps goin’
like the River keeps flowin’ to her home in the Sea.

Just When You Think it’s over,  night surrenders to the day…                                                 to reveal the Love inside you; walking with you all the way.

Then the legions of Angels came down from on high
to chase all the dark clouds away.
Just when you think it’s over…the end of the line
they’ll show you a better way…
Just when you think it’s over at the end of the line…they’ll
sing all your troubles away.
