I learned two lessons on my sojourn to Wyoming. I learned that I needed to realign my priorities, and I needed to spearhead my actions from the heart of Love. Before Wyoming I prayed every morning in my mind for the strength to live every moment of that day with honor, courage and integrity. The Holy Spirit redirected me from that place, as if I were a willow, to pray now from my heart for the strength to live every moment with Love, honor, courage and integrity! Good Sunday Morning Dear Friend…
Welcome to the “School of Suffering”
When I came down from the mountain my relationship to the world, and everyone in it, had changed in ways that would gradually unfold to me. Thinking of life as a tranquil pond on a windless day in the endless summer…How deep our roots run, if we are rooted at all, is not something we are preoccupied with in this place. In fact, the complacency of summer takes the mind off the purpose of our rooting altogether. But we have left the “summer of our lives” far behind us now, as the swirling turbulence of the unfamiliar and uncharted washes away the illusions of comfort and security. The strength and health of our root system suddenly becomes everything! In the physical world, we were anchored to our attachments and possessions…soon to be swept away. It takes real courage to give up the things we have invested so heavily in for so many, many years. Only the fear of God can provide us the wisdom to find such courage. After the realigning adjustment on the mountain, we regain our solid oak footing before the flood.
Here is where we will need the deepest root; strengthened, nurtured, and fed by our greatest courage. Because everything known to us, loved by us, and having loved us and befriended us will first approach our senses on the softest breeze to forget our roots and think with them. Our hearts and minds enter the space their wants have created, because of our love for them. But tethered by our root system to the wisdom of the soul, we see the false promise in the empty hollow they have bought into. The second approach will be more painful to endure, because of our love for them. Our resistance to the illusion they offer transforms the gold-loom-silk of life-long-friendships of husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers, to the courser cloth of adversary and into the eventual heartless fray of persecution. Here is where the level of fear meets the measure of courage needed to endure. Lake Erie couldn’t hold the tears…for we are made, from the inside out, to love our killers…
“NOW brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.” ~ Matthew 10:21-42
During the Great Depression, the United States Federal Government conned thousands of desperate Americans into turning their backs on nature’s laws to plough under millions upon millions of acres of the natural grassland of the Midwestern High Plains…to grow wheat. It resulted in the greatest natural environmental disaster in American History, turning the lush prairie heartland of Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico into what became known as the Dust Bowl.
Your children have no clue about this for good reason. Their government, having leveraged it’s talent for deception to a global scale via central banks, immoral politicians, corporate cronyism that would make Hoover blush, and a Pope along for the ride, has declared all-out war on Christendom and the Laws of Moses in what is shaping up to be a 21st Century Dust Bowl Redux on steroids! Read one of the best books I’ve ever read, “The Worst Hard Time” by Timothy Egan!
The President of the United States just declared the subject of an FBI criminal investigation innocent on 60 Minutes…while the hard-working members of the Bureau are in the middle of their investigation, half-way through cataloging the mountain of evidence! None of this is real. Certainly, none of it is legitimate! We are repeating the greatest errors of the thirties all over again…the nature of man is acting against the Nature of God! Where will you be when the music stops???
“Behold I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up no councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour (now) what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.” ~ Matthew 10:1-20
Note: It is impossible to not suffer here. But before we inflate our suffering out of proportion…as it is our long-practiced tendency to do, think of the Greatest Love and what He Suffered for us…as far beyond our softened comprehension as the Milky Way! And think on the wisdom of this gem from Sam’s “Fulton Friday” above:
It is not hard to put up with others’ foibles when one realizes how much God has to put up with from us. There is a legend that one day Abraham was visited in the desert by an Arab, who set up loud complaints of the food, the lodging, the bed, and the wine which his generous host had offered him. Finally, Abraham became exasperated and was about to put him out. God appeared to Abraham at that moment and said: “Abraham, I have stood this man for forty years; can’t you put up with him for one day?” Only Love… 🙂
